Montpellier city in the South of France has been one of LOTUS case study sites, where we focused on sustainable urban development projects. In Summer 2022, Montpellier metropolitan authorities renewed their contract with the electricity distribution network operator ENEDIS regarding planned investments and maintenance activities. The aim of estimated €280M investments for the next 25 years is to accommodate increasing capacities of renewable electricity generation, to digitalize the network, and to improve its overall resilience.
