Among LOTUS cases studies, the “Karrgreen” program developed by private initiative in Locminé, Brittany, aims to create a network of filling stations, offering locally-generated biomethane and electricity as vehicle fuel. In June 2022, the construction of a new filling station was initiated in Lexy, near the French border with Luxemburg, making it the first filling station to be built beyond the Brittany region. Four stations are operational today, and future will tell whether the Karrgreen Développement company’s hope to create 150 filling stations by 2024 across France is actually feasible.
